I’m Aaron, a North Yorkshire wedding photographer based in Guisborough. I’ve photographed weddings at Solberge Hall, and the photographs on this page are from real celebrations here. From the dark, detailed staircase to the open gardens, there’s plenty of variety without building your whole day around portraits.
My approach is mainly documentary. I photograph what happens, help with the family groups and give you enough direction during portraits to feel comfortable. You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose.

01 / Morning preparations
The anticipation.
The people closest to you.
There’s more to the morning than a photograph of the dress. I’m looking for the smile when somebody first sees you ready, the last-minute adjustments and the people quietly helping everything come together.
Solberge’s bedrooms and staircase bring a very different feel to this part of the gallery. In the photographs below, window light keeps the preparations soft, while the staircase gives a more dramatic setting as the bride makes her way downstairs.
02 / Your ceremony
You concentrate
on each other.
Whether you’re marrying outdoors or inside, I work around the ceremony rather than interrupting it. We’ll check any restrictions with your officiant beforehand, and I’ll look for positions that let me photograph both of you and the people watching.
The wide outdoor photograph below tells you where everything happened. The close-up of your hands tells a different part of the story. A good wedding gallery needs both.
03 / Just married
Confetti, hugs
and everyone together.
If confetti is part of your plans, we’ll agree a suitable spot and check the venue’s current rules. The entrance makes a recognisable background, as you can see in these real wedding photographs.
This is also a sensible point to organise the family photographs you really want. A short list and someone who knows the people involved makes it easier to get everyone together, then back to the celebration.

The best location is the one that works with the light, weather and how you’re feeling on the day. These are some of the settings I’ve used at Solberge Hall.
The gardens
Trees, planting and quieter paths give us space for a relaxed walk together. Framing you through the greenery keeps the setting in the photograph without needing an elaborate pose.
The entrance
The columns and brickwork make the house part of your story. We can make a few photographs here and still keep you close to the reception.
The interiors
The staircase and illuminated bar have a more dramatic feel. If you like that look, we can include a few deliberately composed portraits alongside the natural coverage.
You don’t have to use every location. I’d rather make photographs you enjoy being part of than work through a list while you’re wishing you were back with your guests.
Keeping the day relaxed
How long do
the photographs take?
As a starting point, allow around 20–30 minutes for relaxed couple portraits, which can be split into shorter sessions. The right amount depends on what you want, the available light and the rest of your plans.
Family groups need their own allowance. We’ll work that out from your list rather than promise the same timing for every wedding. If being with your guests is your priority, tell me and we’ll keep the organised photographs focused.
You won’t need to spend the whole day looking at the camera. Outside those planned moments, I’m documenting the wedding as it happens.
When the weather changes
Good photographs
don’t depend on sunshine.
If it rains, we’ll use the indoor spaces available to us and take advantage of breaks in the weather where it makes sense. The bar and staircase photographs on this page show how much character the interiors can bring.
For a winter wedding, daylight needs a little more planning. Once we know your ceremony time, we can decide when to fit in any outdoor photographs you want. I won’t promise golden-hour portraits when the light or timings don’t allow them.
From the meal into the evening
The reactions.
Then the dance floor.
During the speeches, I’m watching the people listening as well as the person speaking. Later, the photographs shift again: the first dance, friends gathering around you and the point when everyone starts to relax into the evening.
Full-day coverage lets the gallery hold those changes in atmosphere. It’s the combination of the setting, the small moments and your people that makes the photographs feel like your wedding.

My full-day collections include planning support, carefully edited high-resolution photographs, a private online gallery and sneak peeks within 24 hours. There are also options for an album, pre-wedding shoot and a short creative wedding film.
A £100 booking fee secures your date through my online booking process. We’ll confirm availability and the collection that suits you before you book.

We’re camera shy. Can you help us feel comfortable?
Absolutely. Most of the day is photographed naturally. During portraits, I’ll give you simple direction and somewhere to walk or stand, so you aren’t left wondering what to do.
How much time should we set aside for couple photographs?
Around 20–30 minutes is a useful starting point, and we can split that into shorter sessions. We’ll agree timings around your priorities, the light and the rest of your wedding. Family photographs need a separate allowance.
Can we still have family group photographs?
Yes. We’ll agree a list beforehand and build in time for the people who matter to you. Having someone who knows your families help gather everyone makes this much easier.
What happens if it rains at Solberge Hall?
We’ll work with the indoor spaces available on your date and use breaks in the weather if you’d like outdoor photographs. We’ll confirm access and a practical plan with the venue rather than rely on a dry forecast.
How much does your Solberge Hall wedding photography cost?

Do you offer wedding photography and film together?
Yes. I offer photography and a short creative wedding film. Mention film when you enquire and we can talk through the options and how the coverage fits your plans.
How do we check availability and book?
Send me your date, mention Solberge Hall and tell me a little about your plans using my contact page. We can chat by phone or Zoom if you’d like. Once we’ve confirmed the details, booking is completed online with a £100 booking fee.
