Your wedding, your way

A proper celebration, not a photoshoot

You'll spend the day with your guests. Couple portraits take minutes, not an hour. We'll slip away briefly when the light's good, then you're straight back to the party.

Calm guidance, when it helps. I'll tell you where to stand when it's useful and leave you to it when it isn't. No awkward poses, and nobody asking you to "just act natural".

I don't watch the clock. Oak and Willow have no start or finish times. I'm there from the first nervous moments of the morning right through to the dance floor.

Meet Aaron

Hello, I'm Aaron

When my wife and I got married, our photographs were more posed than we'd have liked. Lovely day, lovely people, but a lot of standing about being told where to look. It's a big part of why I photograph weddings the way I do now.

I spent time in the Royal Navy and worked in engineering before coming back to photography, so I stay calm when timelines slip and I'm organised when it counts. For most of the day you'll barely notice me. When you need a bit of direction, I'll give it quickly and without any fuss.

I'm a recommended supplier at Danby Castle and Howard Court. Published in Vogue, and North East Wedding Photographer of the Year 2022.

Photography, film and the full album

Willow

£2,295

Everything, including the wedding film. This is the one I'd choose if it were my wedding, because the film is the thing you'll actually watch again.

  • Full-day documentary photography, no start or finish times
  • A 3–5 minute creative wedding film with real audio
  • A pre-wedding shoot
  • A large 45×30cm handmade album

Most couples choose this one

Oak

£1,695

The pre-wedding shoot is why this one is popular. An hour somewhere nice a few months before the wedding, and by the day itself I'm someone you've already met rather than a stranger with a camera. If neither of you likes being photographed, this is the collection that fixes it.

  • Full-day documentary photography, no start or finish times
  • A pre-wedding shoot
  • A 30×30cm handmade album

The heart of the day, documented

Digital

£1,295

Half-day coverage, delivered digitally. I arrive 45 minutes before the ceremony and stay until after your first dance. There's no album and no pre-wedding shoot, but you get the same careful editing and the same style of photographs. If your budget is going elsewhere, this is a perfectly sensible choice and I won't try to talk you out of it.

  • Half-day documentary photography
Small wedding or eloping? Up to 5 hours of coverage starts from £895.
Booking: a £100 booking fee secures your date, and the balance is due one month before the wedding. Travel within 70 miles of Guisborough is included; beyond that, travel is 45p per mile.
“Aaron did an absolutely incredible job photographing my wedding in Yorkshire this summer. He is a lovely person and fit right into the day. I often didn't notice when he was taking photos! His photos are beautiful and natural and I am absolutely in love with them, as are both of our families.”

Questions couples ask

FAQ

My partner hates having their photo taken. Is that a problem?

Not at all, and it's far more common than you'd think. Most of the day I'm photographing what's already happening, so there's nothing to perform. For the short time we spend on portraits, I'll give you simple things to do rather than poses to hold. Most people forget I'm there within the first hour.

What if it rains?

This is the North of England, so I always plan for it. Rain often makes for some of the best photographs of the day: umbrellas, guests huddled together, everyone laughing about it. I'll also know where the sheltered spots are at your venue.

How long do group photographs take?

Much less time than most couples expect. Send me your list before the day, keep it to the groups that genuinely matter, and ask someone who knows the family (and has a loud voice) to help round people up.

We're getting married in winter. Will it be too dark?

No, but it's worth planning for. The light goes early, so I'll help you work out where portraits fit best in your timeline.

How many photographs will we get?

Every collection includes 500 or more edited photographs.

Do you travel outside the North East?

Yes, anywhere in the UK. Travel within 70 miles of Guisborough is included, and beyond that it's 45p per mile.
