The Value of Your Wedding Album

Your wedding day is one of the most special moments of your life, filled with memories that you'll want to treasure forever.

While digital galleries are a convenient way to view and share your photos, there’s something truly timeless about having a physical wedding album.

On my grandparents' 60th wedding anniversary, I came across their wedding album—a beautiful, tangible reminder of their special day. Seeing the photos in print, held in my hands, was incredibly moving. It was more than just images on a screen; it was a piece of family history, connecting us to their past.

A physical album becomes part of your legacy, something you can pass down through generations. It’s a way for your children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren to relive your love story. While digital files are convenient, they can be lost or compromised over time. I’ve seen it happen before, which is why I now place so much value on creating physical albums for my clients. Your wedding album is an heirloom—a permanent, tactile record of your wedding day that can’t be replaced.

If you haven’t yet added a wedding album to your package, now is the perfect time to consider it. And if you’re already receiving an album, you might want to think about upgrading—whether it’s adding extra spreads for more memories, or opting for a larger size that really makes your photos stand out.

How to Design Your Wedding Album

Now that you’ve had the chance to look through your wedding photos, it’s time to start designing your album. Don’t worry—this part is easy! I’ll guide you through the process to ensure that your album reflects the story of your day perfectly.

Step 1: Select Your Favourites

The first thing you’ll need to do is choose your favourite 50 photos from your online gallery. To do this, simply ‘favourite’ the images you’d like to include, and I’ll take it from there! When choosing your photos, think about how you want the day to be remembered. It’s a good idea to include a mix of moments—from the emotional exchange of vows to the candid laughter at the reception.

If you’re finding it difficult to narrow it down to just 50, don’t worry—you can always add more spreads to your album. Additional spreads give you the flexibility to include more of those treasured moments, without having to compromise on any part of your story.

Step 2: Leave the Design to Me

Once I’ve received your selection, I’ll begin designing your album, carefully arranging your photos to flow through the key moments of your day. I’ll take special care to make sure that the most meaningful moments are highlighted, while keeping the overall design elegant and timeless.

Remember, if you’ve upgraded your album size, the larger pages will allow your photos to shine even more, offering more space for your images to breathe. It’s a simple way to enhance the final result.

Step 3: Review and Revise

After I’ve completed the first draft, I’ll send over a proof for you to review. This is your chance to make any adjustments or suggest changes to ensure the album is exactly how you envision it. Whether it’s swapping a photo or rearranging the layout, I’ll work with you until you’re completely happy with the design.

There’s no strict deadline for this process, but I do recommend getting everything finalised before the busy autumn season when things can take a little longer. Also, please note that the photo lab is closed over Christmas, so it’s best to plan ahead if you’re thinking about gifting albums to family members!

Step 4: Choose Your Cover and Complete the Questionnaire

Once you’re happy with the design of your album, the final step is to choose your album cover material. I offer a range of beautiful options, from classic leather to modern linen, so you can personalise your album to match your style and personality.

To finalise everything, simply fill in the questionnaire at the bottom of this page, where you’ll select your cover material and confirm any upgrades you’ve chosen. Once I’ve received your completed questionnaire, we’ll be ready to send your album off for printing!

"Our wedding album is absolutely stunning—it's the perfect way to relive every special moment, and we love how beautifully it tells the story of our day." - Sarah

Album Upgrades and Enhancements

Your wedding album is a keepsake that you’ll treasure forever, and there are several ways to make it even more special. If you’re looking to elevate your album’s design or add a personal touch, here are some upgrade options that will truly enhance your album’s impact and storytelling.

Larger Album Size

Upgrading to a larger album offers a grander canvas for your memories. With bigger pages, your favourite images will have more room to breathe, allowing for full-spread panoramas and larger individual images. A larger album doesn’t just increase the size of the photos—it elevates the entire viewing experience, making each moment feel more immersive and impactful. The bigger size also allows for a more detailed narrative of your wedding day, giving each section of the day—from preparations to the first dance—the space it deserves.

Additional Spreads

If you’re finding it hard to narrow down your favourite images, adding extra spreads is the perfect solution. Each spread offers two more pages to showcase the key moments of your wedding day. By opting for additional spreads, you can include more of those unforgettable candid shots, group photos with family and friends, and other special moments that might otherwise be left out. Extra spreads allow your album to tell the complete story of your day, without having to make tough decisions on which photos to exclude.

Parent Albums

Parent albums are a thoughtful and meaningful gift for family members. These smaller replicas of your main album are ideal for parents, grandparents, or anyone special who was part of your big day. Parent albums retain all the quality and craftsmanship of the main album but are designed to be more compact, making them perfect as gifts. They are a lasting keepsake that your loved ones will cherish, whether you present them at Christmas, birthdays, or anniversaries.

Cover Materials and Customisation

The cover of your wedding album is the first thing you’ll see every time you take it off the shelf, so it’s important that it reflects your personal style. I offer a wide range of cover materials and customisation options, allowing you to create an album that’s as unique as your wedding day.

You can choose from luxurious textiles like linen or velvet, timeless leatherettes, or even eco-friendly options for a more natural feel. There are also various finishing touches available, including:

  • UV Print: Have your names, and wedding date printed directly onto the cover.

  • Laser Etching: For a sleek and modern finish, you can opt for laser etching to engrave text into the cover material.

  • Embossed Text: Choose embossed text for a classic look, available in a range of fonts and colours.

These customisation options allow you to add your personal touch to the album, making it a true reflection of your style and your day. With so many choices, you can be sure that your album will stand out as a truly one-of-a-kind keepsake.
