North Yorkshire Wedding Photographer - A steam Train Wedding

“Aaron was a lovely ‘guest’ at our wedding, it did not feel like we had a photographer there at all. Our photos are amazing, it felt like we got to relive our day all over again through his eyes. Thank you so much - Tracy”

North Yorkshire Wedding Photographer

As a North Yorkshire Wedding Photographer, I'm always excited to capture unique and unexpected moments on a couple's special day. When Mike called me at the end of last summer to photograph his wedding, I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to capture the beauty of their love story.

The wedding was a last-minute affair, with Mike's friend originally scheduled to photograph the day but unable to make it due to unforeseen circumstances. Despite the short notice, I was free and eager to jump in and capture the magic of their special day.

The only details I had were the hotel where they were staying and the location of the ceremony - the platform at Pickering train station. I relish these types of weddings because the lack of preparation time adds to the excitement for me, and it allows for greater creativity on the day. With no lists of group shots or predetermined photo locations, the possibilities for capturing pure, artistic moments are endless.

As the wedding day unfolded, I was able to capture some truly magical moments between Mike and his bride. The ceremony on the platform at Pickering train station was especially memorable, with the backdrop of the station adding a unique and romantic touch to the day.

In the end, Mike and his bride's wedding was a beautiful and unforgettable celebration of love. As a North Yorkshire Wedding Photographer, I feel honoured to have been a part of their special day and to have captured these precious moments for them to cherish forever.

After a short time at the hotel meeting all the family and photographing Mike, his son and grandson having a game of football and getting those essential bridal prep photos we headed down to Pickering, North Yorkshire train station for the ceremony. It was a secret to the guests, but Tracy and Mike had hired a piper to lead Tracy into the station. Bagpipes always make me stop in my tracks, but listening to one fill, the station made my hair and the back of my neck stand up. As a North Yorkshire wedding photographer this was an unbelievable experience and It’s something ill never forget.

After a magical ceremony on the station platform, we had chance to relax and soak up the incredible atmosphere at Pickering train station with some canapes and drinks before jumping on one of the steam trains and heading off through the magnificent North Yorkshire Moors to our next stop.

As a North Yorkshire wedding photographer, I always appreciate the opportunity to capture the local beauty of the region in my work. When Tracy and Mike chose to include a ride on the old steam train in their wedding day, I knew it was going to be a unique and memorable experience.

As we boarded the train, we were treated to a delicious afternoon tea prepared by Mulberries, a local café specializing in homemade food. With our bellies full, we set off at full speed, meandering through the valleys and taking in the stunning views of the North Yorkshire countryside.

Our final stop was in Grosmont, where we had an hour to explore the charming village and stop off at a local pub for a well-deserved drink. As Tracy and Mike walked around, I couldn't resist capturing some stunning shots of them against the picturesque backdrop of the North Yorkshire countryside.

With its rolling hills and verdant landscapes, Grosmont proved to be the perfect location for capturing the beauty of Tracy and Mike's special day. As a North Yorkshire wedding photographer, I always strive to find unique and breathtaking locations that showcase the region's natural beauty. And in this case, Grosmont did not disappoint.

Once our time was up in Grosmont and the train was turned around we headed back off down the route we came. Our destination was pickering and this time we were heading to a party.

I loved being a part of Tracy and Mike’s wedding. They made me really feel like one of the guests.
