My Top 5 North East Wedding Venues

My top 5 North East Wedding Venues

The North East has a bad rep throughout the UK. In parts I can see why, old mining villages that have seen better days, huge swathes of land that have been engulfed by industry and fishing villages that have fallen on hard times. This is my home though and I often see the best in it. If you scratch beneath the surface you will find a strong community spirit, stunning scenery and amazing wedding venues. You just need to seek them out.

Below I have compiled a list of my top 5 venues throughout the North East. These might not officially be the best, but they all strike the right chord with me. Im sure you will love them.

My Top 5 Wedding Venues.

DANBY CASTLE

Danby Castle Wedding Venue

Danby Castle is one of my favourite wedding venues throughout the North East. I might be a little biased because I tied the knot there, but the places is stunning. The venue is set around a small derelict castle and farm house which boast stunning views of the North Yorkshire Moors.

PICKERING TRAIN STATION

Pickering Train Station

Pickering train station is the perfect venue for those couples who are looking for something a little different. It is such a unique venue simply because you are never in one place. After having the ceremony either in the ceremony room or on the platform, you are whisked away on a vintage steam train for your afternoon tea. It is just such a brilliant idea for a wedding.

THE PHEASANT HOTEL

The Pheasant hotel, harome

The Pheasant Hotel, Harome is a relatively new find for me. It is set in a quaint little village just outside of Hemsley, North Yorkshire. If on a weekend you seek out the finest country pubs then this place will not disappoint. The hotel is set around a central courtyard that hosts brilliant accommodation and a swimming pool. It’s a brilliant wedding venue for all the family to stay over and make the special day into a weekend. Inside the hotel is just as you would expect it, roaring log burning fires, comfy sofas and great food. This is a definite 5* for me.

HARDWICK HALL

Hardwick Hall wedding venue

Hardwick Hall is another gem for Teesside wedding venues. It boasts large airy rooms that ooze class, the service is 5*, but for me the main attraction are the grounds that it is set in. Boating lakes, little brick bridges, woodland and stone terraces. It’s almost as if the wedding venue was built just for us photographers. If you have never been and you like walking I strongly suggest having a leisurely stroll one sunday afternoon, you wont be dissapointed.

THE GRAND HOTEL, TYNEMOUTH

THE GRAND HOTEL, TYNE MOUTH WEDDING VENUE

The Grand Hotel in Tyne Mouth is one of those unique wedding venues that as a wedding photographer takes your breath away. It is perfectly located on the beach to take in the magnificent Northumberland coast. It also has one of the most jaw dropping staircases I have ever seen. As you walk through the front doors it catches your eyes and leads you up to the hugely impressive windows that follow it up to the top. The Grand Hotel is brilliant for wedding photography and is outstanding as a wedding venue. I highly recommend
